The second edition wrapped up in 2023, with Australia emerging victorious again by defeating India in the final match.

One of the standout players in WTC history is Joe Root, who holds the record for the most centuries, having scored an impressive 16 centuries. Following him is Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne, who has made 11 centuries so far in the tournament. Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson ranks third on this list, accumulating 10 centuries in just 24 matches.

India’s Test captain, Rohit Sharma, has also made a significant impact in the WTC. He has scored nine centuries over 33 games, totaling 2,552 runs and maintaining an average of 48.35. Tied with him for fourth place is Australia’s Steven Smith, who has also scored nine centuries. Smith has a higher run total of 3,486 in 45 matches, with an impressive average of 50.31. Notably, Smith scored a crucial century in the 2023 WTC final, which played a key role in helping Australia secure the championship title.

Sharing the sixth spot are Sri Lanka’s Dhananjaya de Silva and Pakistan’s Babar Azam, each with eight centuries. Dhananjaya has scored 2,187 runs in 28 matches, while Babar has achieved 2,725 runs in 31 matches, highlighting the talent of these players on the international stage.

In eighth place, Usman Khawaja and Ben Stokes both have seven centuries to their names. Khawaja has scored 2,686 runs across 32 matches, while Stokes boasts 3,101 runs in 48 matches. Stokes is particularly remembered for his iconic innings of 135 not out against Australia at Headingley in 2019.

Finally, in tenth place, four players—Dimuth Karunaratne, Jonny Bairstow, Travis Head, and Ollie Pope—each have six centuries in the WTC.

Marnus Labuschagne ranks second for the most centuries in World Test Championship (WTC) history, with 11 to his name. The Australian batter was instrumental in helping his team to the WTC title in 2023. Over 45 Test matches, Labuschagne has scored 3,904 runs, maintaining a strong average of 52.92. Alongside his 11 centuries, he has also recorded 19 half-centuries in the prestigious ICC event.

3: Kane Williamson: 10 centuries

Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson stands third in the rankings for the most centuries in World Test Championship (WTC) history. From 2019 to 2024, Williamson has registered 10 centuries in the tournament. In just 23 Tests, the classy right-hander has accumulated 2,289 runs at a remarkable average of 63.58. Besides his 10 hundreds, he has also added three half-centuries to his tally in the WTC.
