Team Hyderabad holds the record for the highest team total in the Indian T20 League, a feat they achieved in 2024 by scoring an impressive 287 for three against Team Bengaluru. This remarkable performance wasn’t a one-time occurrence for Team Hyderabad, as they had also scored 277 for three against Team Mumbai earlier in the same season.

The third place goes to Team Kolkata, who scored 272 for seven against Team Delhi in 2024. This high-scoring match was another highlight in what was an incredible year for massive totals. Team Hyderabad's dominance continued as they also claimed the fourth position with a total of 266 for seven, this time against Team Delhi in 2024. 

Team Bengaluru, who once held the record for the highest total for 11 years, now find themselves in fifth place. Their score of 263 for five against Team Pune in 2013 was a record-setting performance at the time, but the explosive 2024 season saw several new records being set, pushing them down the list.

Team Punjab are at the sixth spot on the list with a score of 262 for two in 2024. This is remarkable because they not only made it to the top 10 but also hold the record for the highest successful chase in T20 cricket, achieving this feat against Team Kolkata, who had posted 261 for six, now ranked eighth. Prabhsimran Singh, Jonny Bairstow, and Shashank Singh were the key players in this historic chase.

Team Bengaluru also appear in seventh place. In a high-stakes match, while chasing a massive target of 288 set by Team Hyderabad, they managed to score 262 for seven in their 20 overs, with Dinesh Karthik playing a crucial role by scoring a rapid 83 off just 35 balls.

Team Delhi holds the ninth position, having scored 257 for four against Team Mumbai in 2024. Team Lucknow rounds off the top 10 list with their impressive score of 257 for five against Team Punjab in 2023.

1: Team Hyderabad: 287/3 against Team Bengaluru

Team Hyderabad was almost unstoppable during the 2024 Indian T20 League season, breaking records and emerging as one of the top two teams. Their most memorable performance came at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium against Team Bengaluru, where they set a new record by scoring 287 for three in 20 overs, surpassing their own record of 277 for three set earlier in the season. Travis Head was the star of the match, smashing 102 off just 41 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen added 67 off 31 balls to propel Team Hyderabad to their monumental total. In response, Team Bengaluru fought valiantly, with Dinesh Karthik scoring a blazing 83 off 35 balls, but they could only manage 262 for seven, falling short of the target.

2: Team Hyderabad: 277/3 against Team Mumbai

Team Bengaluru's record of 263 for five, set in 2013, stood unchallenged for 11 years until Team Hyderabad shattered it in 2024. Batting first against Team Mumbai in Hyderabad, Travis Head set the tone with a rapid 62 off 24 balls, followed by Abhishek Sharma, who blasted 63 off just 23 deliveries. Heinrich Klaasen then delivered the finishing touches with a blistering 80 off 34 balls, propelling Team Hyderabad to a new record total. Remarkably, just a few days later, they surpassed this record once again, scoring an astounding 287 for three against Team Bengaluru.

3: Team Kolkata: 272/7 against Team Delhi

Team Kolkata ranks third on the list, having posted an impressive 272 for seven against Team Delhi in 2024. Their performance in this match was nothing short of sensational. Sunil Narine set the stage with a blistering 85 off just 39 deliveries, followed by Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who contributed a quickfire 54 off 27 balls. The momentum was further carried by Andre Russell and Rinku Singh, whose crucial contributions helped Team Kolkata reach their formidable total. In response, Team Delhi struggled and could only muster 166, leading to a commanding 106-run victory for Team Kolkata.
