After what happened in the first ODI, there is a lot of excitement to see which way this second game goes. Both teams were brilliant in the last game. Both came close but as the nature of the game is, only one team was able to win it. West Indies looked like a team on a mission and with India without some of their key players, expect the 2nd ODI to go either way.

Captain Shikhar Dhawan was just brilliant with the bat and he proved to be the biggest difference in India’s victory. Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill & Shreyas Iyer had a very good game. India did seem to have some problems with their lower order. They could not utilise the platform which was set by the top-order batsmen. With that being said, it was just a one-off game and the pitch was a little too paced as well.

West Indies on the other hand had the same problems they had in the series against Pakistan and Bangladesh – The inability of their batsmen to stay on the crease and churn away the singles and doubles. The lower order however showed some resilience but that is something you cannot rely on every game. West Indies will be looking to make amends in their batting and not give away easy wickets to a side like India.

Another huge reason why West Indies will be looking to make sure they come to the party is their recent run of games. They have won only one out of their last 6 ODI series and these are dangerous signs for any team. And considering that this is a 3 match ODI series, if they lose this one, they will lose yet another series.

Sanju Samson will be looking to impress considering how the team management has picked him over an in-form Ishan Kishan. Axar Patel & Samson will be looking to make an impression too as the job of finishing the innings becomes their responsibility in the absence of Pandya & Company.

West Indies vs India 2nd ODI Pitch Report

The pitch at Queen’s Park Oval might be a belter to bat on. The last game saw over 600 runs being made and this game too might just be the same. Showers are expected a day before the game but the skies are expected to remain clear throughout the game. Expect the captain winning the toss to bat first.
