PSL opener: Islamabad United take on Lahore

The 15th match of Pakistan Super League Six will be played between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United in Abu Dhabi tomorrow.

The match will start at 9:30 PM India time.

The match was originally scheduled for March 5 but was cancelled owing to the suspension of PSL 6 due to a breach in the Covid bio-bubble.

This clash will complete the fifth round in PSL 2021.

The winners of the match will take the top spot in the points table.

The other four teams have played five matches each, with Karachi Kings currently leading the points table, thanks to their superior net run rate over Peshawar Zalmi.

Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United also have six points each (three wins and one defeat), and currently sit third and fourth respectively.

Recent history

Till now, Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars have met 10 times.

Islamabad United, the two-time champions, have won eight times, including the last five.

In their last match, Islamabad posted 198/3 and defeated Lahore by 71 runs.

In the PSL 6, Lahore started their campaign with back-to-back wins against Peshawar Zalmi (by four wickets) and Quetta Gladiators (by nine wickets).

However, they lost to Multan Sultans by seven wickets.

Thankfully, they returned to winning ways by defeating Karachi Kings (by six wickets).

Islamabad United has had a mixed season this year.

They beat Multan Sultans (by three wickets), Karachi Kings (by five wickets) and Quetta Gladiators (by six wickets).

However they lost to Peshawar Zalmi (by 6 wickets).

Latest visa update

Four more players including Umar Amin (Islamabad United), Hammad Azam (Multan Sultans), Khalid Usman (Peshawar Zalmi) and Asif Afridi (Multan Sultans) have received their respective visas to travel to the UAE.

However, one cricketer Imran Randhawa (Peshawar Zalmi) is still waiting for his visa.
