Game-changing all-rounders are a rarity in world cricket.

One such name that has been grabbing eyeballs in recent times is New Zealander, Kyle Jamieson.

Jamieson is one of the 125 overseas players who will be up for grabs at the IPL auction that is underway and given what the 26-year-old brings to the table, we expect him to have plenty of takers.

Former India opener, Gautam Gambhir, for one is impressed with Jamieson.

He says “Kyle Jamieson is not a big name at the moment, but he will turn out to be a superstar. He is seven feet… he is that tall. He can bowl 140 and can hit the ball long. He probably could be the next Andre Russell in the making.”

In fact, Jamieson is the tallest Kiwi ever to play Test cricket.

His stats are truly mouth-watering.

In just six Tests, Jamieson has taken a whopping 36 wickets at an unbelievable average of 13.28.

Indians will surely remember him. In the Basin Reserve Test in Feb, 2020, he grabbed 4/39 including the wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari and scored 44 runs.

His 44 contained 4 sixes. In the process, he equalled Michael Clarke’s record of the highest number of sixes on his debut.

This helped New Zealand defeat India by 10 wickets.

Once again, he shone against Pakistan picking up 11 wickets last month, where he had figures of 5/69 and 6/48.

Gambhir added – “Yes, he’s not a finished product and everyone knows about it, but is someone who is probably young and you can have that core built around him. Many franchises can think of building a team around someone like Jamieson.”

In his leisure time, Jamieson loves to play golf.
