Winning is a habit. And it is a habit like no other habit. And The Mumbai Indians are the serial winners of the Indian Premier League. They are the most successful side in the tournament with 5 IPL titles and they look hungrier as ever to go on and get their hands on their 6th IPL title.

But this is not just an ordinary year in the IPL. It is the year after the mega auctions. And mega auctions tend to spice up things a bit. Mumbai Indians have always played a particular brand of Cricket and they have always been a settled team. They had a good opening partnership, a reliable and settled middle order and a very deep and explosive lower order with the likes of Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard. But now they have lost some of their very key players due to the auctions. Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Quinton de Kock & Trent Boult will be dearly missed by the Mumbai Indians as these 4 were their regular players.

With that being said, Mumbai Indians have managed to hold on to their core consisting of Captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Keiron Pollard, Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav. They have made some very interesting additions to their squad as well. One of the biggest names in the squad is Jofra Archer. The very fact that Archer and Bumrah will be seen bowling together in the nets has excited the whole cricketing world. They have also managed to sign the very explosive Tim David from Singapore who has been delivering huge sixes in T20 competitions throughout the world.

Mumbai’s bowling though might be a little area of concern even though their batting looks really solid. After a few matches, we will know how settled this new Mumbai Indians line-up is. Let us look at the squad and the possible playing XI for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022.

Mumbai Indians Playing 11 IPL 2022 (Suggested XI)

Rohit Sharma (C), Ishan Kishan (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Kieron Pollard, Tim David, Sanjay Yadav, Daniel Sams, Murugan Ashwin, Tymal Mills & Jasprit Bumrah

After looking at the Mumbai Indians squad one can be sure about one thing and that is that they have a lot of power and some very good batsmen at the top. But what they don’t seem to have is the depth in bowling. Archer is out injured and might not feature this year. And anyone from Murugan Ashwin, Tymal Mills or Daniel Sams has an off day or has an injury, they do not have many frontline bowlers to rely upon and save them on a rainy day. However, they do have the most important things – experience and knowing how to win games and that will come in really handy this year considering everything is so unsettled because of the auctions.
