“It will be a career highlight, an era-defining series if we win out there (in India).” – Pat Cummins

I think if you can win in India, that’d be bigger than an Ashes series,” –  Steve Smith.

The Aussies are back in Indian soil with a mission – Vengance. After being humiliated at home in two back to back series in the longest format of the game, the proud Australians are here to restore ther superior status. But they will be fighting an up-hill battle against a very strong Indian side in India on picthes were ball will make the batsmen dance.

But the Aussies are ready to dance, infact they have been preparing for the big dance well in advance. Strangely Australia did not play any warm up games. Instead they chose to practice against the Indian spinners by hiring various ball boys and some academy players. Steve Smith was the leader of the lot who praticed a lot against off spinners to encounter Ashwin. The Australian team is here with a lot of intent and they will be playing to win the series.

This test series is very important. Not just historically but also because the World Test Championship is at stake. India have to win the series or atleast draw the series 1-1 to reach to the finals of the World Test Championship.

Quite a few stars will be missing the first test. Iyer, Bumrah, Starc and some other key players. But whats even better is that they both have good backups in all positions.

There has been a lot of talk and banter about how the pitch will behave and how it has been curated. Obviously, ex Australian players and the media have been quite vocal about it.

It will be interesting to see how this series goes.
