One of the best T20 competitions in the world, the Big Bash is a tournament of sublime skills. It is intense, action-packed and the athleticism and the skills put on display, combined with the atmosphere in the ground, makes for a grand spectacle. This is the reason that it has been entertaining the world of cricket for over a decade now. The 11th season of the Big Bash has also started off with a bang and within just a week, we have some amazing performances, some stellar catches & more than anything – the amazing brand of Cricket being put on show. Let us look at the favourites to win this year’s Big Bash League –

- Sydney Sixers – Well, well, this is the team that has won the last two editions back to back. They are absolutely possessive when it comes to this trophy, They just don’t want to hand it over or let another team even touch this trophy. They are looking for a famous three-peat – something which has never been done before in this tournament. And they certainly have the team to do so as well. They have some good power hitters at the top, some very explosive batsmen in the middle order and some serious depth in their batting department and a lot of variety and options when it comes to bowling as well. There’s a reason why they have won the previous two editions and they certainly look set for a third as well with the way they have been playing.

- Sydney Thunder – If Sydney Sixers are here, can the other team from Sydney be far behind? Sydney Thunder are undoubtedly one of the most dominant sides in the tournament. They are the team to beat in this tournament. Right from the openers, to the no 10 batsman, they have some serious depth in their batting department and are loaded with power hitters. They have good spin bowling options in the form of Tanvir Sangha and Chris Green, The pace trio of Daniel Sams, Mac Andrew & G Sandhu is very potent and accurate too that does not let the opposition score freely. They certainly are one of the favorites to lift the BBL 11 trophy.

3. Perth Scorchers – The Perth Scorchers are definitely not the force they used to be a few years ago but they still have some serious match winners in their team and the attitude and style with which they play and carry the attack to the opposition is simply mind-blowing. Colin Munro, Cameron Bancroft, M Marsh are all in the form of their lives and they have shown that in the first week of the BBL itself. They have an experienced bowling line-up as well and have some great death bowlers in their ranks too.

4.Melbourne Stars – If Stoinis doesn’t get you, Cartwright will, If Cartwright does not get you, Maxwell will. If Maxwell does not get you, Russell definitely will. Well, this Melbourne Stars team is loaded with some serious power hitters and even if one of them has a half decent game, the opposition are almost out of the game. They have some good bowling options as well and have good variety and depth in their attack. They have been very consistent in the previous two editions as well. However their problem lies in the latter stages of the tournament when there is a clutch situation and you can’t lose a game. And one or two players cannot bail you out everytime. This is why they have roped in Andre Russell – perhaps one of the biggest names in the T20 format to come to their rescue in such situations.
