They managed to sign Ajax’s core defender Lisandro Martinez and also have signed another young talented defender in Tyrell Malacia. United still have not found answers to their shaky defence and they will be hoping that these two talented players can be the answer to their problems.

United have also signed Christian Eriksen as a free agent from Brentford. Eriksen is a proven commodity in the Premier League as he used to be a key player for Spurs. It remains to be seen if he can find some form and help United be the team they once used to be.

Manchester United also need to sign a central defensive midfielder and they have already agreed on a fee for Frenkie de Jong with Barcelona. But, the player wants to play Champions League football and also wants to stay in Barcelona and is adamant to go. So it remains to be seen if Manchester United will wait it out or pursue another player for the central defensive midfielder role.

There are also rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo might be looking to leave the club as United will not be playing in the Champions League and they have not made major moves in the transfer market. However, new manager Erik Ten Hag has always maintained that those are just rumours.

Chelsea has signed two very good players so far in the transfer window.
