Yes, Yes, Yes!
It’s that time of the year again. The time of the Indian Premier League. A time when excitement is literally visible in the air from days ago. And as the games get closer, the excitement just adds up.
Today is the day when the first game of the Indian Premier League 2022 will be played. 70 matches that will be played between March 26 – May 29. This is the biggest cricket T20 competition in the world. And we are all set to begin.
CSK vs KKR, Match 1: Preview
The first match will be played between the finalists of the last year. CSK vs KKR. A team that has won the competition 4 times versus a team that won the IPL 2 times. Two power-packed sides. Two serial winners. This game should go down to the wire.
All teams in this year’s IPL are very new and it will be interesting to see what combinations they can come up with. One of the biggest things to consider for both teams will be how do they make their XI with a balance of power hitting and wicket-taking. Mumbai is a high scoring ground and two things will really matter –
Power-hitting and the pace of the bowlers.
And the best part is that both teams have some really good pacers and some really big power hitters.
From CSK, the onus will definitely be on Ravindra Jadeja who will be captaining the side for the very first time and obviously on the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, MS Dhoni & Dwayne Bravo. Moen Ali will be missing out on this game due to his late arrival due to visa issues.
For KKR, the men who matter the most will be Shreyas Iyer, Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakravarthy. If either two from these 4 have a good game, expect KKR to win this game.
CSK vs KKR IPL 2022 Pitch Report
The surface at the Wankhede Stadium is one that is good for batting. The ball comes on nicely to the bat and the boundaries are also not very large. Over the years, the Wankhede Stadium has seen some of the very best encounters in the IPL and some very high scoring games. Considering that it is the very first game of a new tournament with a new team combination and that too at the Wankhede stadium, the captain winning the toss will decide to bowl first. The toss might carry a certain advantage.
