Rohit Sharma, the former India T20I captain, holds the record for playing the most T20I matches. He appeared in 159 games, starting his T20I journey in 2007 and playing his final match in 2024. Following him is Ireland's Paul Stirling, who has played 145 matches since making his debut in 2009.

In third place is George Dockrell from Ireland, with 139 matches in his T20I career, which began in 2010. Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah is fourth on the list, having played 138 matches. Since debuting in 2007, Mahmudullah has scored 2,394 runs at an average of 23.70 and also taken 40 wickets.

Sharing the fifth spot are Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, both with 129 T20I matches. Nabi has scored 2,165 runs and taken 96 wickets, while Shakib has scored 2,551 runs and claimed 149 wickets.

New Zealand’s Tim Southee comes in seventh. Since debuting in 2008, Southee has played 126 matches, taking 164 wickets, with his best bowling figures being 5 for 18. Eighth on the list are India's Virat Kohli and South Africa’s David Miller, both with 125 T20I appearances. Kohli has amassed 4,188 runs, including one century, while Miller has scored 2,437 runs with two centuries.

Lastly, Jos Buttler from England and Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik share the 10th spot, each having played 124 matches. Buttler has scored 3,264 runs, with his highest score being 101* against Sri Lanka in 2021, while Malik has scored 2,435 runs at an average of 31.21.
