As Michael Jordan would put it –
What time is it?
It’s game time!!
It surely is game time here in the Caribbean where the biggest party in sport is about to begin.
That’s right, we are just a couple of days away from the Hero CPL 2021 to begin. And this time it gets even bigger and better. The World’s most entertaining T20 competition is now finally a few days away and we cannot contain our excitement and we are sure neither can you. 6 Teams, 33 Games, The throne of CPL is there to be claimed. If it still doesn’t excite you, you my friend have only yourself to blame.
The last two years have been tough on everyone. From little children to the 90 year olds and anyone who falls in between. We have seen it all and been through it all and till now the impact and after effects of what we have all seen and been through is still affecting our lives and might continue to do so for a while. So the CPL couldn’t come at a better time than this. It is exactly what the doctor ordered for all of us as it is the biggest party in sport like we said even earlier. The sport is more about the fans than anyone else, and due to covid, the fans couldn’t be there and witness the tournament last year. This time however, with things getting better fans will be allowed back into the stadium and witness their stars play and add to all the buzz and excitement. The best part about the CPL is the fun element it brings to the game. The dancing and the cheering fans, the noise in the stadium, the little celebration after a wicket or even a boundary being saved. The Players dancing their hearts out in the 22 yards where even legends sweat. This is what the CPL is all about and this is how it always should be.
The stakes this time are even higher and the competition a little more stiffer as all the games will be played at Warner Park. This takes out the home and away advantage for all of the teams as everyone might get accustomed to the conditions pretty soon. However, one thing that it really ensures is that the quality of cricket and entertainment is going to go just higher and higher. Few marquee players like The Universe Boss – Chris Gayle coming back into the tournament adds more flavour and excitement to the tournament. With the excitement fans will bring to the stadium and after having played without them since the past couple of years, even our superstar players will be eager to play in front of the cheering and dancing fans.
And when you talk about fans, it doesn’t get any better than the Hero CPL where the atmosphere is too lively and the music and the noise – a little too high.
